First gear is simple; just pick your drivers before each race - your points accumulate according to your accuracy per race. The end of every race starts a new round, so you can burn laps around this baby all season long!!  The end-of-season points leader will pull out with bragging rights and a cool prize from THE TEAM 990!

THE TEAM 990 F1 Pool 2010 Official Rules

 

Prior to each race in the 2010 season, you have to select the top ten (10) drivers to cross the finish line for each race. The accuracy of your predictions will be awarded with points that will be tabulated following each race. If you forget to make selections prior to a race, the selections you made for the previous race will be used.  Make sure to make you selections prior to each race!!

 

Points System

The goal of your predictions is to come as close as possible to the final result standings for each race.Points are awarded for how accurate your selections are to the drivers finish line standings.

  • If the driver comes in the position you predicted = 25 points
  • If the driver comes within 1 position of your prediction = 18 points
  • If the driver comes within 2 position of your prediction = 15 points
  • If the driver comes within 3 position of your prediction = 12 points
  • If the driver comes within 4 position of your prediction = 10 points
  • If the driver comes within 5 position of your prediction = 8 points
  • If the driver comes within 6 position of your prediction = 6 points
  • If the driver comes within 8 position of your prediction = 4 points
  • If the driver comes within 9 position of your prediction = 2 points
  • If the driver comes within 10 position of your prediction = 1
  • If the driver does not come within the top ten (10) finishers = 0 points

 Examples:

  • If you predict a victory for Massa, but he finishes in 2nd place, you are awarded 18 points
  • If you predict a six position finish for Alonso, and he does finish in sixth, you are awarded 25 points for an exact prediction. 
  • If you predict a 3rd place finish for Hamilton, and he comes in 1st place, you are awarded 15 points.

 Timetable

  • Selections must be made up to five minutes leading up to each race.
  • Tabulations and results are posted following each race.

 Prizes:

  • A grand prize will be awared to the overall points leader following the final race of the year. Prize: TBA
