THE TEAM 990 SHOW HOST BLOGS

I play my first softball game tomorrow and despite the fact that in my world- the world of Sports Talk Radio, Softball is looked upon with the same disdain as say, underwater basket weaving, I am a bit nervous. Shall I just point out that although Mitch looks down his nose at softball he pulled a muscle in his FIRST at bat last year at the Charity Softball Game to benefit ALS.

The reason I am nervous is that I seem to have lost all semblance or accuracy due to two things- 1. I don't throw a ball very much anymore which is sad. And 2. the softballs we are using in this league are HUGE. The ones we used to play with were about 3/4 of the size, so every time I throw the ball its either in the persons feet or WAY over their head. Good times. The upside is that I am playing with people who do any number of the following- spin in a complete circle on a strike, cower on the plate with both hands in front of face on any infield hit (in his defense he took a ball to the face last year requiring extensive surgery) and try to stop grounders with their foot. I think its going to be an AWESOME season.

Not sure what field we are at tomorrow but I'll post it later so if there are any contenders for our fan club you are ALL welcome.
