Gainey gone and we turn to THE TEAM 990

As soon as it leaked out that Bob Gainey was going to step down as GM, we were all clamouring for an outlet and for feedback. And who do we all turn to for instant analysis and a place to vent? Why, THE TEAM 990.

Working from a client's office on Monday afternoon, I secretly tuned in to THE TEAM 990 to catch what the mood was. And thankfully, Randy Tieman greeted my ears with thoughtful opinion and a ton of experience. He was the ship captain steering the ship through a storm. His reaity checks to ranting and excitable listeners was just what the doctor ordered.

While the nation ponders the future of the Montreal Canadiens, in this, their second century, Tieman was reflective on the Gainey tenure and pointing out some of the variables that were out of Bob's control.

Now, I wasn't a fan of everything the GM did. But, I also know that he wasn't the cause of a debilitating amount of injuries this season. Tieman knows that, and so should you.

Whatever the future holds for the Canadiens as we approach the NHL trade deadline, there's one thing we can count on. You can bet that Randy Tieman will have something articulate and right on the money to say.
