So, Brett Favre decides to come forward in the media and confirm that he will, indeed, play football in 2008. Does he speak with Peter King? Chris Mortensen? Jay Glazer? No, he speaks with Greta Van Susteran of Fox News. Do you think she knows more about footballs or facelifts? But, I digress.
If any of you Packer fans feel like playing the blame game, take aim at #4. And I hope you're more accurate than your favourite QB. He waited only one month before choosing to tearfully announce his retirement. Why couldn't he wait a bit longer, to be absolutely certain the decision he was making was the right one. Favre has put the Packers in an unteneble situation. You've got one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, coming off one of his best seasons ever, being replaced by someone who has hardly played in the league. And the situation was very preventable.
To be clear, I would not allow Favre to attend training camp. As far as I'm concerned, there is no more Favre for Green Bay. Activate him, trade him to a team other than the Vikings and Bears and let Aaron Rodgers take over.
